November 2022: Panel Magic....

August 2017: Communication is key!

Picture

If you are interested in using this equipment for your event,  please let us know.

With theatre groups choosing shows with ever increasing technical aspects, one thing that always determines the success of a production is the communication.   Skylight Sound took the plunge to support it's local groups by purchasing the new  Altair HD Wireless Talkback system.   The system allows several technical and stage screw to roam wirelessly whilst keeping in constant communication with the stage manager and other vital crew.  Skylight Sound decided to ensure that the system was future proof so upgraded to obtain the 8 way wireless model with added features and benefits .
The system is fully compatible with leading wired party line comms systems.
This system comprises of:
1 x WPS-202HD  Base Station
1 x WBP-202HD  Dual Channel Manager Beltpack
3 x WBP-200HD Single Channel  Beltpack
4 x  Single Muff  Headset with mic mute
1 x  Charging system and storage unit
For full details visit:  Altair Wireless Systems

NOTE: Skylight Sound has purchased the new HD version
This equipment is absolutely fantastic and communication with Altair has been brilliant.

June 2013: The Digital Era is upon us

Picture
In September 2012, Skylight Sound took possession of a brand new product.  The Behringer x32 digital mixing desk.  One word - Unbelievable!  Behringer have, in recent years, been renowned as cheap audio equipment manufacturers and be be honest, their kit, whilst OK for occasional use has not been favoured as the professional choice. Until now that is!
This desk has set heads turning.  It has definitely changed Skylight Sound's view, ditching the analogue kit with all separate outboard kit for this all in one masterpiece.  So good that Skylight Sound purchased another in June 2013.

July 2012: Reflections - A Huge Success

Picture
CATS production "Reflections" was a fantasic couple of evenings of enjoyable songs.   Great harmonies in a great venue.  Well done to everyone involved.

The 90 minutes set up for Skylight Sound which also included some lighting was a bit of a challenge, but as always seemless to the audience who enjoyed both the songs and interval refrehments.  A great night out and well supported by the local community.

Look out for CATS next extraveganza!

June 2012: Issues around Trantec Body Pack Transmitters

Picture
Since Skylight Sound purchased new radio mics as part of the digital switch over, everything has been great.  Well, that is until a month or so ago when issues were experienced with the battery compartment on the units.  Having contacted TOA (Trantec Service), they agreed to modify all 20 of the packs with an improved plastic composition.  The units were turned around in 1 day, so you can't complain at TOA's service.  Couple that with the fact the items were technically out of warranty, Skylight Sound is more than happy.  Thanks TOA!

June 2012: Poppy Field Designs

Thanks to Jem at Poppy Field Designs, Skylight Sound now has a few banners to help promote the range of support it gives during the year.

June 2012: Ready for the great outdoors!

Picture
Skylight Sound has been asked to provide services for a number of outdoor events this year and has taken the plunge to purchase a couple of popup marquees.  They're 3x3 metres, totally waterproof and can be joined together.  Those of you who recall CATS summer extraveganza in 2011 will remember the weather and problems we had staying dry for this event.  Forget the rather flexible gazeebo, these marquees should ensure we can concentrate on the performance rather than the elements!
